About Trelace

Every space has an architecture. The most memorable have a signature.

Trelace lives at the meeting of the two.

The name

From the trellis, and from interlacing.

Our name draws on the trellis, a framework that gives growth its shape, and on the act of interlacing, where individual elements become something greater through their relationships. It reflects a simple belief: thoughtful design should leave room for you.

How it started

Trelace started with an uncle and his nephew, two Arizona homeowners looking at their own backyard and courtyard walls. They wanted a lit statement piece, something with the presence of architecture, and found only string lights, wall decor and one-off metalwork.

They came to see the walls around a home as its most underused surface: the view from the kitchen window, the backdrop to every evening outside, and the last thing anyone designs. So they built a team that cares about outdoor architecture as much as they do, with designers, makers and a licensed Arizona professional engineer who checks every figure we publish.

The Trelace Frame is the piece they wanted for their own walls.

The idea

With Trelace, each piece is part of a larger artistic language. Form, rhythm, shadow and space become the elements of a composition you help create. The arrangement gives the work its character. Your choices give it its meaning.

A composition can bring stillness to a room or give it a sense of movement. It can make a quiet gesture or become the presence that defines the space.

Built to evolve

As your surroundings evolve, the composition can evolve with them. This is what modularity means to us: the freedom to keep discovering what belongs together. Screens change while the frame stays on the wall, and planter modules, now in development, hang from points built in from day one.

Where it comes from

Designed, engineered and fabricated in Arizona, for the block walls of the desert, and available first in Phoenix.

Individual pieces. A personal composition. A signature in space.
